A New Chapter: Personal, Professional And The President

“And I’m going to tell you, it will happen again”, said the old man on the dock.

Several weeks ago, I did a piece about the different stages of changes life brings to us.  In my article. “Changes In Reflections On Life; A Short Story On Life” , I share a brief encounter my boyfriend, Bob, had many years ago around the age of 30. He was discussing how his priorities and outlook on life were changing.  As he and his friend were discussing this, an elderly man walked by acknowledging their conversation.  The gentlemen simply said to the men, he would have told them it would happen, but they would not have believed him.  As he walked away he simply said, “And I’m going to tell you, it will happen again.”  Little did anyone that warm summer day know, those words would impact someone personally, professionally and Presidential.

Because I can relate to the “change” that happens around the age of 30 and felt there indeed be another, I enjoy hearing Bob’s story.  As the years have gone by, I have thought about what the man meant with his words.  At times, I wish I too had been on the dock that day, to ask him.  I wasn’t there and have no answers.

A President of a different kind.”
