Where Does A Starry Night Take You? A Short Story

“It’s a hot, starry night in the Midwest. My siblings and I enjoyed a fun filled day at Grandpa and Grandma’s house.  Mom packed all five of us up yesterday and we headed out to spend the the weekend with them.  Grandpa and Grandma really weren’t that far away.  They lived on the north side of town, a thirty minute drive.  However, being a child full of excitement, that drive to the country took forever. I know Mom’s feelings are mutual, as she listens to all of us bantering along the way.”

  1. Thank you for writing this, Terrie Ann! It brought a tear to my eye because I was very close to my grandmother as well. Even though she has been gone for over 20 years, I miss her everyday. My mom has passed away as well. I would like to think that they are looking down and seeing everything that has happened to me and smiling.

    1. Thank you again, Susan! I love hearing when others relate to something I have shared. My Grandma is now 90 and we are Blessed to still have her. She is a very strong willed woman, I would like to think I have a little her drive in me. And, I will always believe loved ones that have passed are truly watching down on us! Your words mean a great deal….thanks for the reply!
