A Piece From My Heart – Discrimination Or Not?

Discrimination?   Really, Teresa, don’t you think you are being just a bit melodramatic?”  That is the question I have been asking myself for quite a few months now, questioning the feelings going on inside my head as I write this special piece from my heart.  However, I feel I am closer to the realization that, yes, discrimination is playing a role in my life right now.

If you have read my bio or maybe another one of my articles, you have seen that I am a caucasian woman who grew up in the midwest in a conservative,  middle class family.  We lived in a nice neighborhood and I attended a predominately white elementary, middle and high school.

I was given the opportunity to go back to school and start a brand new career back in 2005, launched into the dental field and absolutely loved all aspects of it.  I began as a Dental Assistant, which I did for many years then, as the progression normally goes, transitioned into Office Management expanding my knowledge and spreading my dental wings.”

  1. I understand how you feel, Teresa. My husband and I experienced several setbacks like that within the last couple of years. It is hard when you are of a certain age to get a job. Ageism does exist. It is unfortunate but true. I will keep you in my thoughts.
