Life is An Adventure

For those who may not know, I realized my passion for not only writing, but sharing what I write.  The sharing part is what drives my passion!  I joined a few Facebook Groups while doing a little research on the Wonderful World of Blogging.  The first one I joined (Blogging Newbs) I saw a post for an up and coming online magazine needing contributors.  This was for the launch on June 15, 2016.

Looking back now, I am not sure what came over me that day.  I sent the poster a Private Message simply saying I wanted to become a writer for him.  I still am not sure what came over HIM that day, but after a few messages……I was going to be a writer for his new magazine!  Just so it is clear….I was upfront about having no experience.  And he still welcomed me aboard. Joining the State Of Liberation Staff is the best “On A Whim” decision I have ever made!

Live It…Enjoy It

In addition to my new found passion for the world of writing, I am a very proud mom of three boys who have all grown to be amazing young men.  Motherhood is one of my proudest accomplishments and a gift I will forever cherish.  While everything about Motherhood is not always glamorous and easy, to me it is an adventure not only to cherish, yet it makes you stronger and wiser.  For that I feel extremely Blessed.

My belief is, we as parents can only do our best, making decisions based on the knowledge and information we have within us at any given time.  We raise our children on this basis, try to instill the morals important to us and then we can only believe and trust they will go forth into the world and make the write decisions based on the knowledge and information they absorbed and instilled within themselves.  I am very proud to say all three of my sons make their Momma extremely proud with the way they are shaping their own adult lives.

Learn From It…..

Though it took a little adventure, living and enjoying life, at one point I realized we can not change our past or the events within it, we can only change the way we choose to view our past.  Choosing to focus on regrets or seeking to place blame as to why we made the decisions we once made, does not help us grow as individuals.  Instead, one day I made a conscious decision to realize, I did the best I could at the time and try to channel my energy on the positives.  I chose to turn regrets into lessons learned, while trying to find the positives in the opportunities I was given at a particular time in my life.

I like to look at my life now as a novel being written.  All the change is just material for a brand new chapter in my book.  I hope to take the Life Lessons from my past to script what is on the next page.  Now that I have discovered what writing does for me, my hope with the Blog is to share my life experiences, my views and hopefully engage, entertain and help someone, somewhere, somehow!

Discovering Blogs and reading other writer’s styles has been such a learning tool for me.  If you see something you like, agree with or otherwise, please feel free to use the Comment Sections and leave your website so I too can learn from you!

  1. Hi Midwest Girl,
I read on Donna’s blog you won the Leibster award. Congratulations.
I’ve travelled often but never been to the U.S. midwest.

I met you at Donna’s blog party. I help new bloggers at my site. Maybe you can check out my blog if you need a blogging tip or two. That’s what I write about. For example, I recently wrote How to Get 842 page views to your blog in less than a day

I also have several blog parties each month like Donna.

    1. Hello, Janice!

Thanks for stopping and taking a look! The Midwest (I grew up in Indiana) is…well it will always be home due to family. I have been fortunate enough to live a few great places. I now am on the West Coast – Seattle Area. We moved here in 2002 and absolutely love it here.

Yes, I feel so lucky to have been able to join her party. She an outstanding host and the event full of amazing people. As I mentioned to Donna in a comment, being as new as I am, I feel I literally struck gold!

I just upgraded my Blog Site and in the middle of changes. My next stop was to check in at Donna’s Party again this evening and visit/meet other amazing people. I will without a doubt follow your link on over to yours. I love meeting new people who share the same passion and seeing so many styles of writing and ideas.

Thanks again and I will see you shortly….I can’t wait to take a lookE
